What Is Technology?

For something name-checked so widely throughout our society, the precise meaning of the word technology is not that well-known. Technology is so frequently placed in conjunction with the word science that many think of the two as the same. Some equate technology purely with gadgetry while others think somewhat hazily of all the things that make the present different from the past.

The technology is defined as the set of knowledge and skills which, when applied in a logical and orderly, enable humans to modify their material or virtual to meet your needs environment , that is, a combined process of thought and action in order to create useful solutions Technology responds to the desire and will that we people have to transform our environment, transform the world around us looking for new and better ways to satisfy our desires.

Technology is the application of knowledge and skills to make goods or to provide services. It includes the tools and machines that people use to convert natural resources into items they need.It also includes the methods they use to convert their resources. Technology, therefore is both product and process.

Technology is one of the most powerful agents of change in our society. New inventions bring new ways of doing things. Change comes with technology and it is now moving at a faster pace than ever.
Technological change on Prince Edward Island has a wonderful and storied history. This webpage will illustrate some of the "inventive Islanders" who led the way in many fields of new technologies.

In a research and development organization such as ESA, technology is a concept of primary importance, so by necessity the definition of the word is precise: 'technology is the practical application of knowledge so that something entirely new can be done, or so that something can be done in a completely new way.'

For an even shorter answer, try the single attribute that defines Homo sapiens as a species: our ability to make and use new tools. Most of the human body is pretty unremarkable really when compared to other animals: it was only the tool-making abilities of our brain and hands that carried us from Africa's Serengetti plain to the Moon's Sea of Tranquility.

Relationship between Science and Technology
It is quite common to confuse technology with applied science, defining technology as something subordinate to scientific activity, however, it is one of the most widespread topics about the nature of technological activity.
In the first place, the motivation, activity and products of science and technology are different.
The motivation of science responds to the desire of people to know and rationally understand the world around us and the phenomena related to it, activity is research and the resulting product is scientific knowledge.

What Is Electronics Engineering?

Electronics engineering, or electronic engineering, is an electrical engineering discipline which utilizes non-linear and active electrical components (such as semiconductor devices, especially transistors, diodes and integrated circuits) to design electronic circuits, devices, microprocessors, micro controllers and other systems.  It also deals with the design and application of circuitry and equipment for power generation and distribution, machine control, and communications.   In other worlds we say that electronics engineering is an area which purely describes the study and areas of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. Due to many amendments taken place in the field of electronics, electronics engineering has been divided into many sub categories including digital computers, power engineering, telecommunications, control system, radio frequency engineering, signal processing, microelectronics and instrumentation.Electronics engineering homework help p...

What is Supercomputer

A supercomputer is a type of computer that has the architecture, resources and components to achieve massive computing power. Today's supercomputers consists of tens of thousands of processors that are able to perform billions and trillions of calculations or computations per second. Supercomputers are primarily are designed to be used in enterprises and organizations that require massive computing power. A supercomputer incorporates architectural and operational principles from parallel and grid processing, where a process is simultaneously executed on thousands of processors or is distributed among them. Although supercomputers houses thousands of processors and require substantial floor space, they contain most of the key components of a typical computer, including a processor(s), peripheral devices, connectors, an operating system and applications. As of 2013, IBM Sequoia is the fastest supercomputer to date. It has more than 98,000  processors  that allow it t...

Disney's 'Magic Bench' Puts You in the Picture with Animated Figures

A new "Magic Bench" designed by Disney Research lets you interact with endearing animated characters — and no special glasses or headsets are required. Instead, the complete environment — the seat, the sitter and the cartoon humanoid animals — is mirrored on a screen opposite the bench, making it possible for others to watch the scene unfold.  How does the illusion work? A camera and sensor capture images and gather depth information about physical objects — the bench and the person — that algorithms integrate with the 3D animations, the researchers wrote in a study. Meanwhile, haptic sensors built into the bench deliver vibrations that are synchronized to animated actions on the screen, creating the illusion that the animated figures are occupying real-world space next to the user.   "Our mantra for this project was: hear a character coming, see them enter the space, and feel them sit next to you," Moshe Mahler, principal digital artist at Disney R...
